“Drown” reflects the quintets own experiences, expressing the newly built relationships they experienced this year, having gone on separate summer adventures with ‘Manas having travelled to Sweden, Marco moved to LA, and Srikar visited India and Turkey, while Abhi and Tanmay stayed in North Carolina,’ where Weston Estate was formed in 2017 and named after an NC neighbourhood.’ Despite them having formed new relationships with someone or something, the lyrics of “Drown” convey the message of not being able to stay committed to the person they initially had a connection with. The melody and composition of “Drown” offers both groovy and sultry vibes that are driven by an electric guitar and drum-lead instrumentation behind Marco and Manas’s infectious vocals. These vocals and the instrumentation compliment each other, allowing the listener to succumb to the dreamlike, groove state of the song. Up until the one minute and fifty six second mark, the song lies within the midst of being simultaneously upbeat and chill, before diving into an enticing beat switch-up, which they teased on instagram through the single’s announcement post.
