What is the most complex thing you’ve had to do? Being a dad, a student, and a full-time worker all at the same time. Adjusting to America after living over 25years of my life in Lagos, Nigeria. Joining the military at age 30. Making afrobeat a song of the future in the state of Alaska. It is still a work in progress but my circle is getting bigger and I'm hopeful it will only get bigger. What is the most outstanding achievement you’ve ever accomplished? Winning "purposeful song of the year with my latest sing I Am Nigеrian-God Bless Nigeria ft. Winning Trending song of the year with my Song titled Sankolo at the Unique Awards 2022 One of the first Afrobeat songs to be played on TEDfm 103.9 Fairbanks Alaska with my Single O Holy Night, Afro Medley First Nigerian-American musical artist to perform at Phinchic Productions in Alberta Canada. First Member of the Ogar's Trybe to perform in Fairbanks, Alaska. What are your long-term goals? Create music that will further create awareness of afrobeats in America. Work more with producers in America, to create more relatable afrobeat with my American audience. Finish my masters in counseling, to help younger generations remember they can be career-oriented, family oriented and still chase their educational goals. Be a mentor. What is the biggest mistake you have made in your career? I have been privileged to have wonderful individuals guide me through my musical career. I'm very young at it, as more of my music life has been a church, I'm always grateful for the experience that is why I'll never leave God. I will sing songs about everything but I will always remember and put God First in all that I do. What is one message that you would like to give the world? Tomorrow awaits You have all it takes to be better than you were yesterday. The American dream is real. Africa will rise again. Nothing, as everything I have done, has taught me a lesson or two. No matter how much I try, I can't turn back the hands of time, the earlier we realize our faults and wrongs the better chance we have of correcting and making things better. If you could work with any artist who would it be and why I'll love to work with DJ Khaled, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, I'll love to work with Wizkid, and someday Jay Z. With these artiste, they are indeed the epitome of what the music business is and I'm hopeful, I'll be worthy of their partnership someday. He was born into a family of talented singers and entertainers, which may explain why singing comes naturally for him. Though Sonofuche is originally from Ogoja in Cross river state, he grew up in Abule Ijesha, Lagos State which formed the background of his singing experience till date. He started off singing in his teenage days being a member of the church choir. Sonofuche's music career took a whole new turn in 2009 when he became part of a Live Band known as Da Nu Generation Band (DNGB). The band was led by his elder brother, Cornel who won the Star Quest Talent show with the group D'Accord in 2006. DNGB performed all around Lagos and other Nigerian states until 2015 when Sonofuche left the group and travelled to the United States to further his education. Blessed with a remarkable tenor voice, Sonofuche has evolved over the years into a complete and outstanding performer. On stage, he is particularly known for his high energy vibes which his followers find fascinating. He released "O Holy Night", a Christmas medley that was delivered in a mixture of both English and Yoruba to celebrate the power of diversity. Yoruba is a local language spoken predominantly in Southwestern Nigeria where Sonofuche was raised. O Holy Night is the quintessential Christmas medley that takes the listener on a spirit-filled and uplifting journey. Sonofuche dropped a song titled “I Am Nigerian- God bless Nigeria” ft the world famous The OGAR's Trybe and Canadian based Phina Brooks to celebrate his country of birth, believing in the hope of a better Nigeria/Africa with a Brighter Rewarding future for all. The song which is already on YouTube was created to celebrate hope and the beauty in Nigeria’s diverse culture. His drive to become one of the biggest afrobeat artists in the industry has made him explore his talents beyond limits. With this, Sonofuche is set to light up this Christmas with the video to his Christmas rendition of “O Holy Night”, and also looking forward to perform at major concerts worldwide.
