The Greatest

Following a brief teaser campaign, Sia dropped “The Greatest,” her first single to follow 2016’s This Is Acting. It features a guest verse from Kendrick Lamar. The song’s music video is directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, and while it features her longtime collaborator Maddie Ziegler, Kendrick’s verse is not included. Sia promoted “The Greatest” with a picture of herself and Ziegler wearing rainbow makeup, perhaps suggesting the song has a pro-LGBT message. Some have noted that the song may have been recorded and released in support of the victims of the 2016 mass murder at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub.
