Makes Me Wonder

An anthemic pop rock anthem, "Makes Me Wonder" was the lead single from Maroon 5's second studio album "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" and was the first single from the group to top the USA Billboard charts. "Makes Me Wonder" reached #1 in May 2007 (for a total of 3 non consecutive weeks) and was a major chart success in Canada (#1), UK (#2), Australia (#6) and other major territories. According to comments by singer Adam Levine, the lyrics to the track can be read on two levels - the first about a bitter relationship break up; the second about feelings of disillusionment with the state of US politics. A censored "clean" version changed the lyric: "And it really makes me wonder If I ever gave a f**k about you" to "And it really makes me wonder if I ever gave a thought about you". Maroon 5 would receive their second Grammy award for "Makes Me Wonder" in the category of "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" in 2008.
