"Die Another Day" is the theme to the James Bond film of the same name recorded by Madonna. It was Madonna's 20th anniversary of making hits. The single, released in late 2002, peaked at #8 in the US and #3 in the UK, selling 167,863 copies and making it the most successful Bond theme since Duran Duran's A View to a Kill. The song was later included on her 2003 album, American Life. Madonna’s “Die Another Day” is the theme song to the 2002 James Bond film of the same name, the twentieth entry in that film series. (And in which Madonna cameoed as a fencing instructor.) The glitchy electro-pop track was an unconventional composition for a Bond theme and proved controversial with some of the movie’s producers– as well as critics and Bond aficionados; nevertheless it was a was a commercial success, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, topping the charts in Canada, Spain, Italy and Romania and reaching the top-ten in several others. “Die Another Day” was nominated at the 2003 Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Song. At the Grammy Awards of 2004, it was nominated for Best Dance Recording and Best Short Form Music Video.
