"Go Find Yourself or Whatever" is the twelfth song on Carly Rae Jepsen's fifth studio album The Loneliest Time (2022). It was released on October 21st 2022, through 604, School Boy and Interscope Records. Go Find Yourself or Whatever was written by Jepsen and Rostam sometime between 2020 and 2022 during the development of The Loneliest Time. Carly discussed writing the song on The Zane Lowe Show in October 2022; she explained how the song was written after a session she and Rostam had earlier that day - stating, 'it was around 8PM, we had wrapped up, and [Rostam] just pulled out the guitar and [started playing the chords of ‘Go Find Yourself or Whatever’], and nudged over a room mic to me, and was like, ‘Are you ready to go home?’, and I’m like ‘Ugh, okay’ and I just picked up the microphone, starting singing a few things I don’t even remember - like lyrically, even, singing about.' ‘I kinda forgot about [the song], because it was a late night session, and doing two songs in a day sometimes your brain starts to play tricks on you, so it was about two weeks later - maybe three weeks, and Rostam sent me the demo like ‘Remember this?’ and I listened to it and I was like, ‘Huh… am I allowed to do songs like that?’ ‘I definitely have been in love with 'the traveller' before, and I think looking back on this song when I perform it live now, there’s definitely elements of the song that very much speak to me too, as ‘the traveller’ - you feel safe and sorrow, you feel safe on an open road, go find yourself or whatever.’
