From 2015 EP 'Cowboy Worship'. This EP was produced with Sacred Bones Records. Amen Dunes, the project of Damon McMahon, began as a collection of improvised songs made in the fall of 2006 in a trailer in upstate New York. After sharing them with a few friends, the tapes were shelved, and the following summer McMahon moved to China and all but quit making music. - https://www.sacredbonesrecords.com/collections/amen-dunessrsltid=AfmBOoq90GkiqRslPBh5qY3KnwgQg88AwpIHQhA_f0dTwdP5DtbYU86r
Lyrics:
[Verse 1] Long afloat on shipless ocean I did all my best to smile Till your singing eyes and fingers Drew me loving to your isle [Refrain 1] And you sang, "Sail to me Sail to me, let me enfold you." Here I am, here I am Waiting to hold you [Verse 2] Did I dream you dreamed about me? Were you hare when I was fox? And now my foolish boat is leaning Broken, lovelorn on your rocks [Refrain 2] For you sang, "Touch me not Touch me not, come back tomorrow." Oh, my heart, oh, my heart Shies from the sorrow [Verse 3] I'm as puzzled as a newborn child I'm as riddled as the tide Should I stand amid the breakers Or should I lie with death my bride? [Refrain 3] Hear me sing, "Swim to me Come to me, let me enfold you." Here I am, here I am Waiting to hold you
